Welcome to AstroAtom, a forum for comments and discussion on the production of atomic data and their astrophysical applications. This initiative was born during the workshop “Uncertainties in atomic data and how they propagate in chemical abundances” held at the Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias, Tenerife, Spain, last October 2010. It was therein generally felt that communication between atomic data producers and users could certainly be made more active and fluent, particularly regarding data accuracy, completeness and quality and new data requests in a variety of astrophysical enterprises (e.g. solar, nebular, AGNs and stellar atmospheres). Thus, in order to get the blog going, we invite contributions from the community at large which may be submitted to the following blog caretakers:
- Valentina Luridiana (IAC, Spain), firstname.lastname@example.org
- Claudio Mendoza (IVIC, Venezuela), email@example.com
- Manuel Bautista (WMU, USA), firstname.lastname@example.org
Moreover, in order to make AstroAtom more with it, entries will be regularly signposted in Twitter under the @AstroAtomForum signature which readers and contributors are invited to follow.
