A PhD position in Physics, ‘Computational Atomic Structure’, will be opened, with the application deadline of August 1st, 2016.
The PhD position concerns research in computational atomic physics with a focus on nuclear effects and fundamental physics. Method- and code development for atomic structure calculations will be part of the research project. Also applications of computed atomic data toward analysis of astrophysical plasmas may be part of the duties.
The PhD student will collaborate with researchers at LUMCAS (Lund-Malmö Centre for Atomic Systems), where active research in computational atomic structure calculations, laboratory spectroscopy and astrophysics contribute to a broad and stimulating environment. http://www.astro.lu.se/Research/LUMCAS/. The PhD student will also be a part of the international COMPAS (Computational Atomic Structure) group that brings together leading scientists within the research field http://ddwap.mah.se/tsjoek/compas/.
